ABOUT ISG
The Independant Study Group was founded in 2008 by artist's Véroniqe Malo and Emily Mennerdahl. Nomadic in nature, we are currently based in Stockholm, Sweden and Quebéc, Canada. We work within, around and outside of institutions as artists-curators. We organize exhibitions, reading groups and screenings, using public spaces and institutions for informal and convivial discussions, that are brought together into a contemporary art context.
As curators, our aim is based upon the importance of process, of unedited ideas, sketches, everything and all that comes before the final production – focusing not on what will be but on what is.
The goal is to offer another scene for discussions and presentations of contemporary artworks in a nomadic matter, crossing borders of establishments and places.
